Developmental Process for Your Business: A Plan for Success

A company’s success usually results from a conscious effort to move the company toward a defined goal. The effort needs to be organized and executed through a series of strategic steps. Properly done, the result is rapid business growth and development. Here’s how it works.

Step 1: Business Readiness

To begin the process, the business must have reached a state of static equilibrium and be poised to move to a higher level that will imbue the business with new energy and vitality.

Step 2: Formation of Vision and Direction of Energy

Newly energized, the company looks for opportunities to expend it profitably. Sometimes this takes the form of a concrete action or set of actions to increase profits, market share, etc. Other times it might be more evanescent, such as a new opportunity in the company’s industry or in society at large to which the company desires to respond. Either way, the company’s energy is directed toward moving to a higher level, inspired by a positive vision.

Step 3: Empowerment and Organized Force

The newly directed energy then needs to be channeled through an organizational process that transforms it into action, and from action, into productive results. This process provides a baseline for how to channel the energy, transforming the original vision into concrete outcomes. It parcels out tasks and responsibilities to people.

Step 4: Execution and Achievement

Through the energy, knowledge and skills of people in the company, the plan is enacted. People work together with a common vision to implement plans and strategies directed toward achieving a common goal. If all goes well, this propels the company to the next level of success and achievement.

With the proper stepwise execution, virtually any business can benefit from this process.
